I'm glad I'm not the only one that makes up words to songs in video games. posted by borkencode at 11:42 AM on August 18, 2010
Not only are you not the only one, but I thought "That's not the words to those songs!"
I can't remember my/our lyrics but they weren't nearly as wise. More about how I fucking need an l-shape. posted by MCMikeNamara at 11:58 AM on August 18, 2010
this is how I pictured Soviet history anyway. posted by The Whelk at 11:58 AM on August 18, 2010
The band was mentioned previously (thus the previously link in the FPP), but the video is new and I thought it worth a new post. If not, mods, delete away. posted by HumanComplex at 12:13 PM on August 18, 2010

There's an actual russian folk tune the song is based on, and it does indeed have lyrics. I had to sing it in high school choir competition, about 4 years before Tetris came out. It was an odd feeling hearing a song I'd practiced for about a month, coming out of my gameboy. posted by nomisxid at 12:22 PM on August 18, 2010
Wow, it manages to be a commentary on the USSR and Tetris at the same time. The music getting faster as things get more insane is an excellent touch, too! posted by maus at 1:01 PM on August 18, 2010
i liked it much better when it was just a song, it wasn't so painfully goofy.
the acting is more than wooden, but the graphics are interesting. posted by eustatic at 1:28 PM on August 18, 2010
Needs more Khrushchev and Brezhnev. Also, for the interested seekers of lyrics. posted by StrikeTheViol at 3:12 PM on August 18, 2010
Sweet! Cheers HumanComplex I haven't seen this. posted by supercrayon at 4:52 PM on August 18, 2010
As somebody who just spent the last year teaching this history to wannabe diplomats, I thought this was amazing. posted by Dreadnought at 6:24 PM on August 18, 2010

¡°Why?¡± asked Larry, in his practical way. "Sergeant," admonished the Lieutenant, "you mustn't use such language to your men." "Yes," accorded Shorty; "we'll git some rations from camp by this evenin'. Cap will look out for that. Meanwhile, I'll take out two or three o' the boys on a scout into the country, to see if we can't pick up something to eat." Marvor, however, didn't seem satisfied. "The masters always speak truth," he said. "Is this what you tell me?" MRS. B.: Why are they let, then? My song is short. I am near the dead. So Albert's letter remained unanswered¡ªCaro felt that Reuben was unjust. She had grown very critical of him lately, and a smarting dislike coloured her [Pg 337]judgments. After all, it was he who had driven everybody to whatever it was that had disgraced him. He was to blame for Robert's theft, for Albert's treachery, for Richard's base dependence on the Bardons, for George's death, for Benjamin's disappearance, for Tilly's marriage, for Rose's elopement¡ªit was a heavy load, but Caro put the whole of it on Reuben's shoulders, and added, moreover, the tragedy of her own warped life. He was a tyrant, who sucked his children's blood, and cursed them when they succeeded in breaking free. "Tell my lord," said Calverley, "I will attend him instantly." HoME²Ô¾®¿Õ·¬ºÅѸÀ×Á´½Ó
