Cor, Blimey Guv'nor! It's the English/Cockney Rhyming Slang Dictionary! Very useful if you don't know your John Cleese's from your Duke of Kent's. Once you've mastered the art, you'll have no trouble understanding this passage.

That second link has a good Slang and language links page, which includes Alderton's Cockney Rhyming Slang, the place I've always known. Here's an unofficial update to the Profanisaurus, and finally the most real slang guide I've seen. Good one!

Personally, I'm glad they included the meaning of "Berk". You can actually say that at any time on TV if you want. There was even a character in a kids TV show called Berk. Hoorah!

The D&D realm of Planescape incorporates a lot of Cockspeak into the game world, and it adds a lot of flavor.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I've suffered the grievous head wound and resultant drop in IQ it would take for me to want to learn Cockney...

After you finish grinning about Berk think what Drut is backwards. Trapdoor and Clangers are/were some of the best of British telly.
