Field Station: Dinosaurs, the Leonia dinosaur park set to close at the end of the fall season, is selling its prehistoric creatures on Facebook Marketplace. The animatronic dinosaurs, made of steel, rubber and foam, are going for $850 for a winged quetzalcoatlus to $2,700 for each T. rex (there’s two — “slightly used, well loved!”) and $2,800 for the spinosaurus. omg what a deal! good thing I have no money, cause I'd be soooooo tempted!! not that I have room for thousands of dollars of dinosaur in my life, but love (ahem) finds a way, amirite?

I have a family friend that has a replica dinosaur skeleton in his house. He'd probably love something like this.

My dad had a habit when I was a kid that if you misused a word, you had to go look it up in our copy of Merriam Webster, so a thesaurus was probably his favorite dinosaur.

The urge to put one of these on my beloved sister in law's lawn as a surprise for my nephews. I can't manage the logistics but oh man the look on her face would be worth it.

I actually live fairly near to this but sadly don’t have the wherewithal to acquire, transport and install one of these.

But my imagination is spending a bunch of time trying to figure out where one would go in my back yard to optimally scare people driving by.

These look way, way better than I imagined when I first read this post. I pictured some run down, haggard, roadside attraction props. At least from the photos, these look pretty damn cool.

wait what kind of dinosaur is a thesaurus? or is it one of those "not actually a dinosaur but kind of adjacent archosaur because it too lived during the Mesozoic but has the wrong hip bones"

Ha! I sidled up to my loved one, and once they determined that I wasn't need want them go out tonight for whatever, I secured a "sure that sounds great" so now I'm looking at square footage, rental trucks, mileage, and the possibility of unseating phunniemee as Best Dinosaur In Chicago, Sort Of.
