This seems as good an opportunity as any to bring up the fun webcomic "Scandinavia and The World," which pokes gentle fun at various nations' cultural quirks from a Scandinavian perspective. The comic writer is Danish specifically; here are all the comics that deal with Finland. (The "characters" are little people who are the anthromorphized representations of various countries, usually with a brother and sister version of each country; the one exception is for the United States, which has a brother and sister pairing and a shapeless orange blob standing in for Trump specifically.)

Has anyone tried any of these? I like the sound of the dark gin. The naked man says to drink it with cloudy apple juice; I wonder how it would go with American apple cider. (If you put it with British cider it would surely be delicious AND lethal)

While I liked that commercial and I support rye whisky (for cultural reasons... though I prefer 100% or at least higher rye precentage whisky) and saunas in principle, it raises a question. Kyrö distillery is described as "pioneers of rye whisky" in Finland so was rye not used for this purpose there? Or is it due to a preference?

Kyrö distillery is described as "pioneers of rye whisky" in Finland so was rye not used for this purpose there? Or is it due to a preference? Domestic whisky production is pretty new to Finland, from what I understand. The other bit of drunk history here is that Russia prohibited the import of whisky into Finland when Finland was still part of the Russian empire (i.e., most of the 19th century and the first bit of the 20th). This whisky blog post contains some interesting tidbits about the history of whisky imports and the beginnings of domestic production in Finland.

they were so there, the final floor tackle wasn't crucial There was a cut after the opening sauna interior shot too; I found it to be a balanced three shot narrative with a satisfying Finnish.

I love the Finnish cow, a reindeer. Great ad but I am not a drinker. I mostly want to know which ad agency is responsible. The weather does suck; daylight savings time ended in Sweden today and so sunset came at 4:08 PM, which makes me regret that I am not a drinker. Skål!
